Hard to Not Like a Jeep

Never met a Jeep I didn’t like.  Never saw one that I didn’t think was a great vehicle. These classic four-wheelers are the stuff dreams are made of. They seem to last forever and if you never use the off-road functions of your Jeep, you’ll sure be glad you own one when you need to use it.  Many of the postal vehicles are Jeeps:

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” They should have added the word “Jeep” in there somehow, because that’s what helps them make it through the snow and rain.

Jeeps are part of American life and lore. They’ve been around for over seventy years and were developed for one purpose: to get people safely through harsh climates and rough terrain. They are still built on those same principals; however, today they are a little more comfortable than they were seven decades ago. Not just a little more comfortable, a thousand times more comfortable than they used to be. The Cherokee, for example, is arguably as comfortable as the priciest luxury car on the market. The same can’t be said for the classic, military green Willys model built in 1940. Comfort and getting home safely (with a lot of fun and excitement in between), should be Jeeps new slogan. It’s a bit long but it says a lot about what people expect in a Jeep.

Jeep delivers on those expectations in big ways. The Cherokee has so much going for it that it could stand on its own without the Jeep name and still be a best seller. The fact that it has Jeep stamped all over it makes it that much better.  It’s a car with all the luxuries that no one would have even mentioned in 1940. Things like air-conditioning and climate control, leather seats, navigation systems and spacious and comfortable seating are items that would have been thought impossible to implement in the classic Jeep. The Cherokee’s V-6 engine is another item that would have never been put into that open and roofless little thing on four wheels. The Cherokee can take you places where you never thought of going – and in one of the most comfortable rides you’ll ever experience. To the supermarket, if you must, and to the mountains and desert, if you dare. Each trip is an adventure in your Cherokee, because you never know what’s coming next.
