Chevy Trailblazer 2013 – Review

The Trailblazer by Chevrolet is the brand new SUV and made its world debut at the 2012 Bangkok International Autos Show in Thailand. It has a new body frame and this truck sized SUV gives you smooth premium feel and ride. The ride’s handling is superb and best for both urban and highway driving. The interior gives leading space and fold-flat seating and you can opt for two-wheel or four-wheel configurations. It runs with a new four-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engine by GM. The car is designed for family transport and urban commuting both.

Engine and Performance of Trailblazer

The ride is powered by new GM’s Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine and features 2.5 L and 2.8 L displacements. This engine delivers a great balance of power, efficient fuel economy and high-class performance. Two drive trains are offered, a five speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic with electronic shift-control, clutch to clutch facility and an electro-hydraulic control option.


The 2.8 liter engine delivers 180 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque and the 2.5 liter engine gives 150 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Ride and Handling

The car has strong truck shaped body. It has body-on-frame structure with the support of an independent five-link rear suspension it enables to give a combination of luxury and responsiveness. The coil springs also helps to give better suspension.

The Trailblazer is created in Brazil and resembles its sister car, the Colorado somehow. The dual projector headlamps look good and grille is dual-port and carries a 3 dimensional grille lattice. It comes in seven colors i-e Black Sapphire, Sizzle Red, Royal Gray, Switchblade Sliver, Summit White, Auburn Brown and Blue Mountain.

Interior is quite elegant and spacious, you’ll enjoy the ride while driving it. It has seats for seven people with a foldable 2nd and 3rd row. The light-colored leather seating with dual-grained surfaces adds to the beauty of car. The controls are easy and everything is just one click away! Phone call button via Bluetooth, an audio control system and cruise control system are all located on the steering wheel. Adjust your seat with power seating control and enjoy automatic air conditioning system with a separate air conditioner for the rear seat passengers.

Other options are

60/40 split seats (second row) with fold flat capability with integrated folding armrests and cup holders.
50/50 split seats (third row) with storage space and fold flat facility. Power plug (auxiliary) with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
